volunteer Coordinator - Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, recruiting, selection, training and recognition of volunteers for the festival. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible to ensure her/his supervision by having all volunteers are trained and scheduled for the festival.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend TIDFAF meetings and assist in the progress of the planning for the festival.

  • Recruit and recommend the appointment of volunteers to determine their volunteer roles.

  • Develop volunteer positions and training manual information to these volunteers for the weekend.

  • Responsible to ensure that all volunteers are recognized for their efforts in the festival weekend

  • Work with the Secretary for organizing volunteer roster lists and maintaining database records

  • Report to the TIDFAF Board on her/his actions regularly

  • Participate in the fundraising activities

  • Other duties will be directed by the Festival Director

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • The Volunteer Coordinator is selected by the Board of TIDFAF. The Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Festival Director who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations. The Volunteer Coordinator would serve as liaison between board, and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Volunteer Coordinator should have the following skills and experience:

 

  • • Ability to communicate, supervise and empower volunteers for their roles during the festival weekend.

  • • General knowledge about its volunteer recruitment, selection and planning

  • • Ability to work with people cooperatively

  • • Is well organized

  • • Good interpersonal skills

  • • Support TIDFAF’s Mission Statement

  • • Efficiency in MS Office and other computer programs for database records

  • • Friendly manner with diverse people from cultural backgrounds, ethnical backgrounds and lifestyles

  • • Work independently and work as a team.

  • • Strong time management

Registration Coordinator - Job Description

Responsibilities include:

Pre-Festival:

• Works with Finance Manager for coordinating the database management regarding to the registration information

• Enters the registration information into the database

• Ensures all registration materials to the festival including passes, badges, and others

• Liaise with Festival Director regarding to the registration materials for sponsorship invitees.

• Responsible to maintain a Media Guest List, of the Media invitees of the Festival.

• Recruit volunteers for registration booth and ticket sales box area for the festival

Festival:

• Communicates with Finance Manager regarding registration fees and others form of payment at the festival

• Setting up the registration booth at the festival on May 21 to 23, 2009

• Supervise registration volunteer teams for booth and ticket sales box area at the festival.

• Notifies the Finance Manager when there is a fee discrepancy or other question.

• Work closely and report back to Finance Manager for cash flow counts at the end of day throughout the festival.
